Katana ERP supports both consignment sales and consignment goods receipt from suppliers. Consignment items are tracked in a separate stock at the partner–warehouse level.
Customer or outbound consignment represents goods that you provide to your business partners/customers on consignment. These goods remain your property and are therefore always included in your accounting inventory.
Goods issued on consignment do not need to be moved to a separate consignment warehouse. Simply create a Consignment stock-out document for a specific partner, and the issued goods are recorded in the partner’s dedicated consignment stock. In retail chains, consignment goods can also be tracked at the store level.
Subsequent settlement of reported customer sales can be carried out either continuously—immediately after each report is received—or cumulatively at the end of a specified period, depending on mutual agreement. For example, sales reports can be submitted daily or weekly, with settlement performed monthly.
The actual settlement can also be carried out after the end of the accounting period. In this case, the issue date will be the last day of the period, and you can optionally apply a price list valid for the previous period.
Supplier or incoming consignment represents goods provided to you by your suppliers on consignment. These goods remain the property of the supplier, while also being recorded in your warehouse.
Consignment goods do not need to be received into a separate consignment warehouse. Simply create a Consignment Stock-In document for a specific partner, and the received goods will be recorded both in your regular warehouse and in the partner’s dedicated consignment stock.
Katana ERP also allows the receipt of the same goods from multiple consignment suppliers simultaneously, as well as a combination of the same goods as both your own and consignment stock (from one or multiple suppliers).
At the end of the settlement period, consignment suppliers must be informed of how much of their consignment goods were sold during the period. The Sales Report Draft Návrh ohlášokis used to proportionally allocate the sold consignment goods among the suppliers.
If the same goods are also recorded in your own stock, your own goods are prioritized in the calculation. This means your own stock is sold first, followed by consignment goods.
From the Sales Report Draft, you can bulk-create sales reports for individual suppliers, which can be automatically sent to their email addresses in PDF and/or CSV format. This significantly speeds up and automates the consignment sales reporting process.
